Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 July 2026.

This policy explains what information PixelStats collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. PixelStats is a free Hypixel stats website. You can browse and look up players without an account; the sections below about account data only apply if you choose to create one.

Information we collect

If you create an account: the email address and password you sign up with (passwords are stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text), or, if you sign in with Discord, your Discord user ID and username. We also store the Minecraft accounts you claim, and any profile customization you set, such as a theme, location or bio.

Activity tied to your account: the players you follow or favourite, and which of your claimed accounts is set as primary.

Usage analytics: to understand how the site is used and decide what to build next, we keep our own first-party analytics. When you visit a page we record the page you viewed, the site you arrived from, an approximate country, and basic device and browser information, along with events such as searching for a player, creating an account, logging in, claiming an account or following a player. We do not store your raw IP address; it is only ever kept as a one-way salted hash. Signed-out visitors are grouped by a random id in a cookie, and signed-in activity is tied to your account. This data is first-party only: we do not build advertising profiles, we do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertising networks. Aggregated views of it are visible only to PixelStats staff.

Bot usage: when someone runs one of the public bot commands, we log the command name, the ID of the Discord server it was run in, and the time it ran, so we can see how the bot is used and which commands are popular. We do not log the wider conversation in that server or anything beyond what the command needs to answer, and this log is first-party only. It is not sold and is not used for advertising.

Public Minecraft and Hypixel data

When you look up a player, PixelStats displays data from the public Hypixel and Mojang APIs. That information is published by Hypixel and Mojang, not collected by us about you, and players can hide parts of it from in-game settings. We cache it for a few minutes to stay fast and within Hypixel’s API rules.

Player and guild pages on PixelStatsare public and can now be indexed by search engines, so a page showing a player’s public Hypixel stats may appear in search results. The information on these pages comes from Hypixel and Mojang, not from anything you told us, and players can hide parts of it from their in-game API settings on Hypixel. If a player turns those settings off, the hidden stats stop appearing here once our short cache expires.

Hypixel API compliance

PixelStats reads Hypixel data through the official Hypixel API and follows the Hypixel API policies. PixelStats is free to use, credits Hypixel as the source of the game data, and keeps a free tier. We do not resell, proxy or provide bulk access to the Hypixel API, and our API key is only ever used on our own servers, never exposed to your browser or shared. Game data is fetched on demand when someone looks a player up and cached briefly, never gathered by continuous polling. PixelStats is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Hypixel Inc. or Mojang AB.

The Discord bot

PixelStats runs a Discord bot. Anyone can add it to their own Discord server, so its public commands (/stats, /recap, /networth, /flips, /calc, /guild and /compare) now run in servers we do not operate, not only in the official PixelStats server. When you run one of these commands, Discord sends us the Discord user ID of the person who ran it, the ID of the server and channel it was run in, and whatever you typed into the command, such as a Minecraft username or a number for a calculator. We use this only to work out the answer and reply in that channel. We do not read, store or receive the other messages in the server, the member list, or anything you did not type into the command itself. The Minecraft and Hypixel data the bot replies with is the same public data described above, fetched from the Hypixel and Mojang APIs. We also keep a short usage log of each command run, described in the analytics section above.

The bot’s ticket, moderation and role tools run only inside the official PixelStats Discord server, not in other servers. If you use them there, we store a small amount of operational data for running that community: Discord user IDs (for example the person who opened a ticket, or a moderator and the member they actioned), ticket categories and status, and moderation actions and their reasons. When a ticket is closed, a transcript of that ticket is saved to a staff log channel in that server. If you link your Discord account to PixelStats, we store that connection so features like the Verified role can work.

How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
  • To verify ownership when you claim a Minecraft account.
  • To provide features you opt into, such as following players or optional alerts.
  • To operate, maintain and improve the site.

Cookies

We use an essential cookie to keep you signed in after you log in. It is required for the account features to work and is not used for advertising.

We also set one first-party analytics cookie, called ps_anon. It stores a randomly generated id and nothing else, no name, email or anything that identifies you. Its only job is to group the page views and events from the same visitor so a repeat visit does not look like several different people, which keeps our usage numbers accurate. It lasts up to a year from when it is set, or until you clear your cookies, whichever comes first. This cookie is set directly by PixelStats, not by any third party, and the id in it is never shared, sold or used for advertising.

Neither cookie is used for advertising, and you can clear or block them in your browser without affecting the stats you came to see.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We rely on a few service providers to run the site, such as our hosting and database providers, and, if you choose it, Discord for sign-in. These providers only process data on our behalf to deliver the service.

Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, the associated account data is removed. Public Hypixel and Mojang data is not stored long term; it is fetched on demand and cached briefly. Usage analytics are kept so we can see trends over time, and are not tied to advertising or sold on.

Your choices and rights

You can update your email, password and profile from your account settings, unfollow or unfavourite players at any time, and remove claimed accounts. You can request deletion of your account and its data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access or delete your information.

Children

PixelStats is a fan site for a game played by a broad audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and serving the site over HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use PixelStats after a change means you accept the updated policy.
