Each price is the median sale price of an item, taken from auctions that have actually ended on the Hypixel auction house. We record those sales over time and chart them, so you see what items really sold for rather than asking prices.
The auction house shows current listings, which sellers can ask any price for. These prices are built from completed sales, so they reflect what buyers actually paid. For fast-moving markets the two can drift apart for a while.
History builds up the longer an item has been tracked. Popular items have weeks of data points; newer or rarer items fill in as more of their auctions sell.
