How to Make Money in Hypixel SkyBlock
Guide · Updated June 2026
There is no single best way to make coins in SkyBlock. The right method depends on how much money you already have, how much time you can spend, and whether you want passive income or active grinding. Most profitable players run a mix: something passive ticking away while they actively grind something else.

Passive income: minions
Minions are the classic starting point because they earn while you are offline. You place them, fuel them, and collect what they produce. The profit per minion is small on its own, but a full island of the right minions adds up, and the coins arrive whether you are playing or not. The Minion Profit calculator ranks every minion by coins per day for your exact fuel and upgrades, so you can see which ones are actually worth placing.
Minions are best treated as a foundation rather than a main income. They will not make you rich quickly, but they cost nothing to run once set up and quietly fund everything else.
Active trading: the bazaar and auction house
Flipping is buying low and selling high, and it scales with your budget rather than your stats, so it works at any level. On the bazaar you place a buy order slightly above the current one, wait for it to fill, then sell into the buy orders for the spread, minus the small tax. On the auction house you look for items listed below their real value and resell them. The Flip Finder surfaces the best bazaar spreads and NPC flips live, and the Bazaar Flipping calculator works out the profit for a specific budget after tax.
Trading rewards attention and patience more than combat power. The downside is that it needs starting capital and a feel for prices, both of which build over time.
Combat: slayers and dungeons
Once you have some gear, combat becomes one of the strongest active incomes. Slayer bosses drop rare items worth a lot of coins, and higher tiers drop better loot, so investing in Magic Find pays off directly. Dungeons, and the Catacombs in particular, drop high-value items and the materials needed to upgrade end-game gear. Both reward time spent improving your character, which is why they tend to overtake trading for established players.
Farming, fishing and foraging
The gathering skills turn time into a steady stream of sellable materials. Garden farming produces crops in bulk for the bazaar and is one of the most reliable mid-game incomes; the Garden calculator estimates crops per second and coins per hour for your setup. Trophy fishing and the newer foraging content add their own rare drops on top. None of these get rich quick, but they are dependable and pleasant to grind.
Which should you do?
Early on, set up minions for passive coins and learn bazaar flipping to grow a budget without needing gear. As your character improves, shift toward slayers and dungeons, where the best loot is. Keep something passive running the whole time. The healthiest SkyBlock economy is several small streams at once rather than one big grind, and tracking your networth over time is the clearest way to see which methods are actually moving the needle.
